Exciting Announcement!

In our April newsletter, I wrote that I hoped to have more exciting news to announce soon, and I do! As of May 15, 2024, Flex Financial Planning has acquired Stokes Wealth Solutions of Albany, NY. Mary E. Stokes, has been a CFP® professional since 2003 and built a reputation for compassion and a client-centered focus that continued to draw prospective clients even as Mary approached her well-earned retirement. The Flex Financial Planning team is so excited about what lies ahead.

How Flex Financial Planning is Structured

Our team has four people: Rachel Lauber, Certified Financial Planner(TM), Harold C. Heintz, III, Investment Advisor Representative, Rheagan Scribner, Operations and Compliance Associate, and Jessica Snickles, Executive Assistant. You can find more information about us on our website, Home | Rachel Lauber, CFP® (flexfinancialplanning.com).  If you hover your cursor, or mouse, over the “About” tab, you will find little bios for each of us.

We all have our own unique roles here at Flex Financial Planning. For example, Jessica handles all the scheduling and provides administrative support to all of us in the office as well as you, our clients. Rheagan mainly oversees our Operations and Compliance and will be the one to answer any of your questions regarding beneficiary designations, paperwork, or viewing your account information online. Finally, any questions that affect your personal financial plan or situation should be directed to Harold or Rachel.

No matter whom you call or email, we will do our best to assist you ourselves or we will redirect you to the person best suited to answer your specific question. Not sure whom to contact? Just send an email to help@flexfinancialplanning.com and we can internally route you to the correct person.

August 1st Deadline for Qualified Charitable Distributions

The following applies only to clients aged 70 ½ and older sending distributions from IRAs or inherited IRAs directly to 501(c)(3) organizations.

The last couple of years our sponsor companies have experienced slower processing times owing to hiring challenges, increased compliance requirements, and a variety of other factors. To do our best to ensure that your charitable gifts from your IRAs can be processed in time and accepted as completed gifts in the current tax year, please submit your requests to us by August 1st of each year. While we will accept requests after that date, the later in the year we receive them, the greater the risk to processing times. You are allowed to gift up to $100,000 each year from your traditional IRA or inherited IRA from the age of 70 ½ on to a 501(c)(3), so long as the gift goes directly from the investment account to the recipient organization. Please call our office or email help@flexfinancialplanning.com with questions.

A Note from Mary

It is bittersweet to move into retirement and empty out my office. I am looking forward to some leisure time, travel, and golf. I will miss so many of you who have been with me for many of my 42 years in business. Many of you know that I have searched for a while for the person to take over my business when I finally retired. I found what I was looking for in Rachel and her team. Her experience, knowledge, and office support are true assets.

Your new advisor will serve you well. If you need to reach me, use the mary@flexfinancialplanning.com or the Flex Financial phone number. However, with Rachel taking over your accounts, you should be contacting her. Rachel will also take over my Albany office, and my phone has been disconnected.

Again, I want to thank you for the trust and confidence you placed in me. I wish health and happiness for you all moving forward.

Warmest regards,

Mary
